Post-Natal Yoga
Class
Taught by Sue: a qualified and experienced Pregnancy Yoga teacher
I encourage mothers to attend class with their baby
The aim of the session is to create a nurturing space for you to recover from pregnancy and birth whilst building on restoring your energy.
With 18 years experience and knowledge of working within a NHS health visiting team, I also aim to provide you with the support connected with day to day mothering.
PLEASE NOTE: * These classes are suitable from SIX weeks postnatal. However if you as the mother have experienced an “assisted birth” (C-Section / Ventouse / Forceps / Third or fourth degree tear of the perineum) it is advisable to not participate in classes until TEN weeks. (Please contact me directly if you would like further advice before participating in class)
We will focus on:
- Restoring energy and hormonal balance to the body
- Working with breath awareness
- Gentle stretching and strengthening postures
- Restoring the core by gentle activating the abdominal muscles
- Introducing gentle core stability work for the pelvic floor
- Relaxation and meditation
- Connecting with like-minded women, making friends and forming a support network
- Positions and postures to help heel Diastasis Recti (separation of the abdominal muscles)
- Refreshments and homemade cake served at the end of the session!
